Not long ago I quit my regular job as an electrician to start a home based internet business. I purchased many books that taught me the proper skills that you need to succeed in a home based business. With the proper training I acquired it was not long before I started to see my income growing day by day.

1:The number one mistake to avoid when starting your own home based business is do not jump into a niche that you do not have any knowledge about. Most people online try to make money by offering their so called guaranteed to work home based business. Usually most the time these people have not even used this program themselves.

2:The second mistake people make is thinking that they are going to go from broke to a millionaire over night, like most of these get rich quick schemes make it sound like. I am not saying this is not possible, but it is highly unlikely to happen and most people usually get disappointed when this does not happen. You must set realistic goals for yourself and put in the effort like any other business. Start with a good foundation and acquire the proper tools and resources like any other business if you want to succeed.

3:The third mistake people will make is quitting the program to soon because they have not seen any results. It is like any other business there is always going to be trial and error at first. One mistake that I've made and you should not repeat is that thinking something is wrong with the program when you do not see results at first. You have to test different methods, see what techniques will work best for you and run with them.

4:The fourth mistake most people will make is thinking it is all about them and their product or service. You must under stand one thing to succeed in this business it is not about you or your service it is about the customer. Provide benefits to your customers, the people that are very successful in this industry are the one's who provide great benefits not products or service. When you provide your customers with great benefits that is when your product or service will come in to play.

5:The fifth mistake most people will make is not learning the ropes. The best skills for succeeding in any home based business is to provide great value to your customers. You can buy any product and service that may help you on the way, but until you understand that providing value will win time and time again over anything else. This is how the big dogs on the internet make millions, they create a great relationships with their customers and in return they buy what ever product or service they recommend.

So take it slow learn the fundamentals and remember to provide value to your customers or prospects and you will succeed.
